Air leakage in the homes envelope can often be the cause of significant energy loss in the home. Much of our remediation strategy and work is around improving and tightening up the homes envelope.

Our insulation of choice, cellulose also does a wonderful job of helping to tighten up the envelope.

We've seen some impressive results. We will typically see over a 10% improvement in air leakage, simply by putting cellulose insulation in the attic and sealing around recessed lights. We have remediated some homes were there has been over a 47% improvement in air leakage. This is over and above the benefits you'll see from having greater insulative R factor in your ceiling and walls.
